Cabernet Sauvignon. Les Thermes, Domaine de la Baume. France.
Dark ruby red in colour with a potent bouquet of fresh, ripe black fruits. There are notes of blackcurrant leaf with structured tannins and a long, pleasing finish. Great with grilled or roasted meats, game dishes or fine cheeses.
Domaine de la Baume in the Languedoc-Roussillon region is located in Servain, between Beziers and the medieval town of Pezenas, at the centre of the word’s largest wine growing area and is an estate of some 176 hectares. In 1882, Jean Prat, a 19th century visionary, took over Domaine de la Baume which had been lying fallow since the phylloxera outbreak. With the help of his son, in the space of 20 years, he restored 100 hectares of vineyards, exported his production and opened a shop in Paris in 1900. Joseph Helfrich took over as head of this wonderful estate in 2003 and proceeded to establish its much deserved international recognition.
